Richmond in St. Mary was once a thriving cocoa town. It was the home to Criollo and Trinitario cocoa beans that is said to produce the highest quality chocolate in the world.

Jamaica was once the primary supplier of the beans to England and on our shores was a factory for the world-renowned Cadbury Chocolate until the 1970s, when it was acquired by Highgate Foods.

Then came Highgate Chocolate… it was ours, and it was one of the world's best. We wanted to share a bit of history of Jamaican cocoa with our Highgate Chai that is made with local cacao. Our cacao is bought direct from small chocolatiers who are passionate about reviving our cocoa industry by working and supporting small cocoa farmers.

Highgate Chai premium loose leaf is a blend of South African Red Rooibos, local cacao nibs and a basket of spices - cinnamon chips, local ginger, anise seeds, cloves and vanilla.

This blend contains no caffeine.
